How SoloScope handles your information

SoloScope is a professional field-inspection app operated by Claim Assist LLC. This policy explains what we collect when you use the app, why we collect it, who we share it with, and the choices and rights you have.

Effective date: July 25, 2026 Last updated: July 25, 2026 Applies to: SoloScope iOS & Android apps

The short version

SoloScope is a work tool for insurance field inspections. We collect only what the job needs:

  • Your account details and the inspection content you capture (photos, voice notes, measurements, and notes).
  • Precise location, so inspection photos can be geo-tagged and you can get directions to a claim address.
  • Diagnostics and usage data to keep the app stable and secure.

We do not sell your personal information and we do not use it for cross-app advertising or tracking. You can request deletion of your account at any time — see Section 10.

01 Who we are & the scope of this policy

SoloScope (the "app") is owned and operated by Claim Assist LLC ("Claim Assist", "we", "us", or "our"), a company based in San Antonio, Texas, United States. This Privacy Policy applies to personal information we collect through the SoloScope mobile applications on iOS and Android and through the services accessed within them.

SoloScope is a business tool for authorized insurance field adjusters and inspection professionals. Access is provided by an organization (such as an insurer, adjusting firm, or Claim Assist). There is no public self-service sign-up inside the app — accounts are created and provisioned for you by your organization. This policy does not cover any third-party website, product, or service that is not operated by Claim Assist, even if it is linked from the app.

By using SoloScope, you acknowledge that you have read and understood this Privacy Policy. If you do not agree with it, please do not use the app.

02 Information we collect

We collect information in three ways: information tied to your account, information you actively capture during inspections, and information collected automatically as you use the app.

a. Account & identity information

  • Email address — used as your sign-in username and to identify your account.
  • Name and user/employee identifier — provided by your organization to set up your account and attribute your inspection work.
  • Authentication credentials — your password and secure session tokens used to keep you signed in. Passwords are transmitted over encrypted connections and are not stored by the app in readable form.

b. Inspection content you capture

When you perform an inspection, you create content that is stored on the device and uploaded to our servers to complete the assignment:

  • Photos and images of the property, structures, and damage.
  • Voice recordings and transcribed notes — when you dictate inspection notes, the microphone captures audio and it is converted to text. On iOS this transcription uses Apple's on-device speech recognition where available.
  • Measurements and AR scans — dimensions, areas, and room/space measurements captured with the camera and (on supported devices) LiDAR/AR.
  • Claim, property, and inspection details you enter or confirm, such as addresses, annotations, checklists, and written notes.

c. Location information

  • Precise (GPS) location — captured at the moment you take an inspection photo so the photo can be geo-tagged, and used to show maps and turn-by-turn directions to a claim address. Location is only used while the app is in use; SoloScope does not track your location in the background. See Section 7.

d. Device & usage information (collected automatically)

  • Device information — device model, operating-system version, language, and unique device identifiers.
  • Push notification token — an identifier that lets us deliver notifications about your inspections and assignments.
  • Diagnostics & performance data — crash reports, error logs, and performance metrics that help us find and fix problems.
  • Usage data — how you interact with features of the app, which helps us improve reliability and workflow. This diagnostic and usage data is linked to your account so we can support you and investigate issues specific to your device.

We do not intentionally collect special categories of sensitive personal data (such as health, biometric, or financial-account data) through the app.

03 Device permissions we request

SoloScope asks for the following device permissions. Each is used only for the purpose described, and you can review or change most of them at any time in your device settings. Turning a permission off may disable the related feature but will not stop the rest of the app from working.

PermissionWhy SoloScope uses it
CameraTo take inspection photos, measure areas with AR, and scan rooms with LiDAR on supported devices.
MicrophoneTo record your spoken inspection notes for transcription.
Location (While Using)To geo-tag each inspection photo and show directions to the claim address. Not used in the background.
Photo LibraryTo save inspection photos to your device and to let you import existing photos to attach to an inspection.
NotificationsTo keep you informed about upload status, assignments, and inspection progress.

04 How we use your information

We use the information described above to:

  • Provide the service — authenticate you, load your assignments, and let you capture, store, and upload inspection content.
  • Complete inspections — associate photos, measurements, and notes with the correct claim and deliver them to your organization and its authorized systems.
  • Geo-tag and map — attach location to inspection photos and provide routing/ETA to claim addresses.
  • Communicate with you — send push notifications and service messages about uploads, assignments, and account matters.
  • Maintain, secure, and improve the app — diagnose crashes, monitor performance, prevent fraud and misuse, and improve features.
  • Comply with legal obligations — meet recordkeeping, audit, and other requirements that apply to insurance-related work.

We do not use your personal information to build advertising profiles, and we do not track you across other companies' apps or websites.

05 How & why we share information

We share personal information only as needed to run the service and as described here. We do not sell your personal information.

  • Your organization — the insurer, adjusting firm, or business that provisioned your account receives the inspection content you create, because that is the purpose of the work.
  • Service providers — vendors that host our infrastructure, deliver notifications, provide maps, and help us monitor app stability (see Section 6). They may process personal information only on our instructions and for these purposes.
  • Legal and safety — we may disclose information if required by law, regulation, legal process, or governmental request, or to protect the rights, property, or safety of Claim Assist, our users, or others.
  • Business transfers — if Claim Assist is involved in a merger, acquisition, financing, or sale of assets, information may be transferred as part of that transaction, subject to this policy.

We share the minimum information necessary for each of these purposes.

06 Third-party services we use

SoloScope relies on a small number of trusted third-party services. Each processes only the data needed for its function, under its own privacy terms:

ServicePurposeTheir privacy policy
Google Firebase Cloud MessagingDelivers push notifications; provides the device push token.firebase.google.com/support/privacy
Google Maps PlatformDisplays maps and provides directions/ETA to claim addresses.policies.google.com/privacy
DatadogCollects crash reports, diagnostics, and app performance data to keep the app stable and secure.datadoghq.com/legal/privacy
Apple / Google (platform)App distribution, on-device speech recognition (iOS), and operating-system services.apple.com/legal/privacy · Google

These providers may process data outside your state or country. We only work with providers that offer appropriate protections for the information they handle.

07 Location & Google Maps

SoloScope uses precise location only while you are using the app. It is used to geo-tag inspection photos at the moment of capture and to power maps and directions to claim addresses. SoloScope does not collect your location in the background and does not continuously track your movements.

Mapping and directions are provided through the Google Maps Platform. Your use of those features is also subject to Google's Privacy Policy and the Google Maps/Google Earth Additional Terms of Service.

If you deny or turn off location access, inspection photos will simply be saved without location coordinates and map/directions features may be limited — the rest of the app continues to work.

08 How long we keep your information

We keep personal information only for as long as necessary for the purposes described in this policy — including providing the service, completing and delivering inspections, and meeting legal, regulatory, audit, and recordkeeping obligations that apply to insurance-related work.

Because inspection records may be needed to support a claim or to satisfy legal and regulatory requirements, some inspection content may be retained after your account is closed. When information is no longer needed for a legitimate purpose, we delete it or de-identify it.

09 How we keep your information safe

We use technical and organizational measures designed to protect your information, including encryption of data in transit, authenticated access controls, and restricting access to those who need it. Content captured offline is stored on your device and uploaded securely when a connection is available.

No method of transmission or storage is completely secure. While we work to protect your information, we cannot guarantee absolute security, and you use the app understanding that risk. Please keep your sign-in credentials confidential.

10 Account deletion & your choices

You can request deletion of your SoloScope account and associated personal data at any time. Because SoloScope accounts are provisioned by your organization, deletion is handled as a request that we process promptly:

  • In the app — open Profile → Delete Account and follow the prompt. This starts a deletion request to our support team, pre-filled with your account email.
  • By email — write to support@claimassist.com from your account email and ask us to delete your account.

When we receive your request, we will delete your account and personal data, except information we are legally required or permitted to retain — for example, completed inspection records tied to a claim (see Section 8). You may also:

  • Review or correct your profile information, or ask your organization to update details it provided.
  • Turn off notifications, location, camera, microphone, or photo access from your device settings at any time.

11 Information from minors

SoloScope is a workplace tool intended solely for authorized professionals and is not directed to anyone under 18 years of age. We do not knowingly collect personal information from minors. If we learn that we have collected information from someone under 18, we will deactivate the account and delete that information. If you believe a minor has provided us information, contact support@claimassist.com.

12 Your privacy rights

Depending on where you live, you may have rights to access, correct, delete, or restrict the use of your personal information, and to object to certain processing. To exercise any of these, contact us at support@claimassist.com; we may need to verify your identity before acting on a request.

U.S. state privacy rights (including California)

If you are a California resident, California's "Shine the Light" law may permit you to request information about our disclosure of personal information to third parties for their direct-marketing purposes — SoloScope does not share personal information for third-party direct marketing. Residents of California and other U.S. states with privacy laws may have rights to know, access, correct, and delete personal information, and to be free from discrimination for exercising those rights. We honor these requests as required by applicable law.

Because we do not sell personal information or use it for cross-context behavioral advertising, there is no such activity to opt out of.

13 Controls for Do-Not-Track features

Most web browsers and some mobile systems offer a "Do-Not-Track" (DNT) setting. Because there is not yet a uniform industry standard for how to respond to DNT signals, SoloScope does not currently respond to them. If a standard is adopted, we will update this policy accordingly.

14 International users

Claim Assist LLC is based in the United States, and the information we collect is processed and stored in the United States and in the locations of our service providers. If you access SoloScope from outside the United States, you understand that your information will be transferred to, and processed in, the United States, where data-protection laws may differ from those in your location.

15 Updates to this policy

We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time to reflect changes in our practices, technology, or legal requirements. When we make material changes, we will revise the "Last updated" date at the top of this page and, where appropriate, provide additional notice within the app. We encourage you to review this policy periodically.
